It was an epic and dangerous journey during the civil war of 1993, with the precious cargo of hundreds of KwaZulu-Natal musicians from all of South Africa's different race groups. But with the support of Mandela, Zuma, Radebe, King Zwelithini, and several major corporations, the performers steamed across the country aboard The Peace Train to promote a unified transition to democracy. With in-depth archival footage, testimonies from John Kani and Abigail Kubeka, and intimate interviews with the participants 20 years later, When Voices Meet tells the story of a unique, apartheid-busting project that helped change the course of history.

A Musical Journey for World Peace (Live Concert)Music can often be the catalyst for bringing people together, and that was very much the case playing a piece composed and directed by Rupam Sarmah. Guinness World Record® Title 'Most Instruments used in a musical composition' was achieved by Rupam Sarmah and his team on Feb 24, 2013 in Assam, India. This is the biggest performance of this kind in the world using an incredible 315 Unique Instruments with 370 musicians and 106 vocalists, and over 500 participants from around the world performing an International Symphony which lasted for over 37 minutes non-stop. The symphony, which was written as a message for World Peace, included a variety of different styles of music from World Folk, Classical, Jazz, Bihu, Borgeet, Jhumur, Rajasthani, Latin, and Irish, with the lyrics for the piece featuring passages in many languages.
